Stem Cell Research is a big controversy in our country today. The two political parties, Republicans and Democrats, are hung up over whether Stem Cell Research is legal or not. Stem Cell research involves removing a donated Zygote, a fetus just as it is starting to divide into different cells, and using it for research to cure major diseases. Our President has only used his power to veto once, on a stem cell bill. Mostly, the opposition of Stem Cell research comes from fundamentalist christians who believe that the small cell is a human and should not be killed for research, Although many scientists have proven that a fetus does not start to live until its heart and brain are fully developed.
My opinion on Stem Cell research
I believe that as long as the donor of the stem cell is willing, stem cell research should be conducted as it is the only way to find a cure of some diseases.
